Dry Needling
Dry needling is the use of monofilament needles that penetrate the skin in order to target and treat muscular trigger points, assist in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain along with other injuries and mobility hinderances.
How does it work?
The needle penetrates the skin, targets and disrupts contracted muscles and fascia causing an increase of blood flow in the targeted area as well as cause relaxation of the muscle. It is clinically proven that increased blood flow to the injured muscle prevents scar formation and assists in the long term health of the injured area. The needle also helps to release oxytocin thereby reducing pain.
